A C T I O N S:
Dragon Action
- Human equivalent description (if there's a specific situation it's to be used in, then that's stated here as well)

Nose-bump is a generally affectionate gesture
- When nose-bumping with another dragon's nose, it usually is equivalent to a kiss.
- Nose-bumping in another area (i.e. the shoulder) can indicate either an affectionate bump or a kiss to that area, depending on how gentle the nose-bump is.
- Nose-bumping insistently in one area like as if trying to shove someone is just that -- an action of trying to shove the other dragon (but usually this is an affectionate shoving like, "Go on, tell her you love her!" in a supportive way).
- Insistent nose-bumps at the neck are usually just like repeatedly kissing the neck.

Wing over other's back affectionate
- If it just gently hovers over the other's back, it is equivalent to a human throwing his or her arm over the other's shoulders.
- If it seems to try to draw the other in, it's like drawing someone into a hug. A good example of this is in Spyro and Ignitus 2: Nightmare.
- If the edge of the wing is touching the back (the hard part, not the membrane) it usually is the same as nose-bumping insistently, except for much more rough and less affectionate (but still more affectionate than an outright shove).
- If it is covering the other while the other is lying down, it can be interpreted as the following determined by the situation around them:
++ For lovers, it's a hug.
++ In battle, it's a shield.
++ For a mother or father to his or her child, it's like blanketing the younger.

Headbutt various
- It should be fairly obvious what a headbutt is equivalent to in a battle -- it is like a bunch or ramming into someone with the rest of your body.
- A headbutt between friends that does not indicate any fighting can mean the following depending on the situation:
++ If the other is asleep, to try to wake the other up (this is fairly obvious).
++ If the other made a funny joke or the headbutter is joking around, it's like mock punching the other in the arm.
++ If in a large group and the headbutter seems to be ignored, it's usually to get the other's attention.

Intertwining tails
The only meaning for intertwining tails is an affectionate gesture, akin to holding hands. It can also be meant as a support, just like holding hands is.

Lick
Another form of the kissing portion of nose-bumps. Can also be used over wounds to try to clean them if the dragon is unable to do that himself. Licks from older dragons like parents usually aren't kisses; they are like cats grooming each other, an affectionate gesture kind of like a parent cleaning a child (the gesture that kids complain, "Moooom, you're messing up my hairdo!" [think The Lion King, with Simba's mom grooming him!]). A good example of a lick from a parent to a child would be in Spyro and Ignitus: Smile.

Flaming the air
- Can be used as a lightsource.
- May be used to indicate showing off, being smug.
- May be used to get the other's attention, much like a headbutt.
- May be a sign of agitation -- usually this is accompanied by smoke through the nose as well.

Bite on the neck how affectionate it is depends on how tender the bite is
- Can be interpreted as the exact human interpretation, which is a nip, a certain type of kiss. (I'm not a kiss expert, so you should know this one if you are.)
- From older dragons to younger dragons, typically is used as a "calm down" kind of gesture. Sometimes, if the younger dragon is too out of control, the older dragon will actually pick the younger dragon up by his neck. (This is usually extremely gentle.) Planning on putting an example of this in a oneshot; I will edit this when I have done so.
- A cheeky, flirting kind of gesture. (Quick but gentle.)
- Can be used as a threat. (Harsh and quick.)

Wing bump
A dragon specific gesture meaning "I'm here for you." Also used as a very common means of dragons fighting each other.

Head touch the head is the most important part of a dragon -- usually, a gentle head touch is a sign of significant trust
- If a dragon bows his head into another dragon's chest, it means one of the following:
++ If the dragons are lovers, it's just like a person putting his or her head to his or her lover's chest.
++ If it's a younger dragon to an older dragon, it's usually a drawing inward gesture, asking for comfort, support, and guidance. It's basically a "Protect me; I trust you and I need you to." A good example of this is in Spyro and Ignitus: Nightmare.

Cheek touch
- If the user's cheek touches the other's cheek and stays there, it's a supportive gesture -- the closest equivalent to this is a hug. The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon has a good example of this.
- If the cheek is against a dragon's side, it's like a cat nuzzling its owner. Once again, an affectionate gesture.

Bow
- The obvious usage is similar to the human's usage.
- Another usage of bow, being predatory animals, usually means they are about to spring.

Tail language:
- Wagging slowly:
Usually normal or neutral. May go side to side or up and down. Sometimes can indicate happiness or excitement.
- Wagging quickly, lashing: Angry or mischievous, ready to attack. A good example of this is in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, when Spyro is taunting Ripto.
- Not moving at all: Indicates minor despondence.
- Twitching: Nervous or irritated.
- Tucked in between legs: Frightened, intimidated, scared.
- Moving only at the tail tip: ... You better run. Mister Dragon is furious at you.
These are all the dragon gestures and their human equivalents (AS I WRITE THEM, NOT AS OTHER PEOPLE WRITE THEM). Please note that these are quadroped (which Spyro is considered) actions, NOT biped actions.

This is just so you don't get confused, since I have used a lot of dragon terms lately. d:

Most of them are inspired by stuff I have seen in the Legend of Spyro and have read.

Note: I don't want wars started here about how dragons CAN kiss or whatever the hell you want to say. I don't like making quadroped dragons kiss because they are more animalistic than bipedal dragons. If you make them kiss, that's fine with me. End of discussion.

I will edit this sometimes if more ideas come to me that I didn't realize before.
